Every business name has a story, a spark of inspiration that led to its creation. For me, the name “Inkspiration by Gabrielle” perfectly encapsulates the heart and soul of my creative business. It’s a name that reflects my passion for all things design, my personal touch, and the very essence of what I offer, by bringing ideas to life through graphic design.
A Brief History
As most of you probably know by now, my design journey began in childhood, watching my Dad, a true design enthusiast (complete with 80s rockstar hair!), create amazing designs. I was particularly captivated by a logo he designed for my Mum’s cat-sitting business. Throughout my childhood and adolescence, I was always designing something – party invitations, posters, anything I could get my hands on. I simply loved being creative.
I always loved the idea of having my own business, specifically offering certain design services, but I never had the confidence to get out there and do it. Then, my Husband decided enough was enough, and he was done with his boring and overly stressful 9-5 job, and start his own business in Carpentry and Joinery.

Watching him become so passionate about this new adventure and getting up in the morning made me want to do the same, and he made me feel like anything was possible. He encouraged me to do the same, and has held my hand every step of the way.
So, I started volunteering with a local website design company which reignited my creative spark and solidified my desire to dedicate more time to design. This inspired me to take the plunge and launch Inkspiration by Gabrielle. I now have the opportunity to channel my passion into branding, websites, wedding stationery, greetings cards, and much more. Seeing my clients’ visions become reality is truly rewarding.
Let’s Break It Down
- Ink: This isn’t just about the physical ink in a printer or pen. It represents the tangible aspect of design – the printed materials, the physical products, the visual elements that bring ideas to life. It’s a nod to the traditional roots of design while also embracing the digital realm where “ink” can be pixels on a screen.
- Inspiration: This is the core of what I do. I believe that every project starts with a spark of inspiration. Whether it’s a vibrant colour palette, a captivating image, or a powerful message, inspiration is the driving force behind every design. I strive to not only find inspiration for my clients but also to be the inspiration that helps them realise their vision.
- by Gabrielle: This adds a personal touch, a sense of connection. It’s a reminder that behind every design is a passionate individual dedicated to creating something unique and meaningful. It’s about building relationships with my clients and offering a personalised experience.

Putting it all together, “Inkspiration by Gabrielle” represents:
- Creative and inspiring design solutions.
- A personal and collaborative approach.
- A commitment to bringing visions to life through graphic design.
This name isn’t just a label for my business; it’s a reflection of my philosophy and the value I bring to my clients. It’s a promise to deliver designs that not only look great but also inspire and connect.
Logo Inspiration and Design

The logo for Inkspiration by Gabrielle is more than just a visual mark, it’s a carefully crafted symbol that embodies the my brand’s essence. Its circular design creates a sense of wholeness and continuity, suggesting the cyclical nature of inspiration and the comprehensive design services offered.
The central element is a stylised feather pen, a direct link to the “Ink” in the name and a classic symbol of creativity. It is also a direct link to me, as I have always been fascinated by how beautiful feathers are. I love the way they look, I love they way they float and move, and I love how elegant and natural they are.
The feather on my logo is simplified yet elegant. With gently curved edges that evoke a sense of fluidity and movement, reflecting the dynamic nature of inspiration. This quality reflects the ever-flowing nature of ideas and the creative process.
The colours used in my logo were also carefully chosen. A gradient of greens, blues and purples is used for both the feather and the surrounding circle. This blend of colours creates a sense of depth and sophistication.

The greens, often associated with growth, nature, and harmony, subtly suggest the organic nature of creative development. The blues, often associated with trust, stability, and intelligence, convey professionalism and reliability. The purples, traditionally linked to creativity, imagination, and wisdom, reinforce my brand’s focus on innovative and insightful design. The gradient effect adds a modern touch and suggests a spectrum of creative possibilities. These colours work together to create a visual identity that is both memorable and meaningful.
My business name, “Inkspiration,” is arranged in a circular fashion around the feather, further enhancing the sense of unity and completeness. “By Gabrielle” is positioned below the feather in a more delicate script, adding a personal touch and highlighting the individual behind the brand, me. The tagline “Branding – Design – Invitations” is subtly placed along the bottom curve of the circle, clearly outlining the core services offered.
Overall, the logo for Inkspiration by Gabrielle is a harmonious blend of classic symbolism and modern design. It effectively communicates my brand’s focus on creativity, inspiration, and professional design services, while also conveying a sense of elegance and personal touch.
