5 Reasons I Love Being A Wedding Stationery Designer

Table of Contents

Art and design has always been a passion of mine. From watching my Dad create logos and invitations when I was little, and learning the skills I admired from him, and designing simple birthday invitations when I was younger for friends and family, to now owning my own business where all I do is design, is such a thrilling and liberating feeling I have managed to achieve in my life. But of all my experiences in the art world, designing wedding stationery is one of the aspects of my business that I love most!

From designing wedding invitations, to save the dates, to wedding menus, to seating plans, the list goes on and on when it comes to wedding stationery, I enjoy being part of the special day that the couple is embarking on together.

Here are five reasons why weddings hold such a special place in my heart, and why I love sharing my passion with my Inkspiration by Gabrielle couples.

My Wonderful Couples

Many of my couples are navigating the wedding planning process for the first time. They’re often unsure of what to expect and can feel a little stressed. As a wedding professional, I have the privilege of easing their worries and guiding them through each step. It’s something I truly enjoy doing!

Being newly engaged is such a joyous time in anyone’s life. My couples are always excited to share their wedding plans, and I love listening to their ideas. It’s an honour to play a small part in their big day. Seeing their excitement is truly heartwarming – it brightens my day every time!

Bringing Ideas To Life

As a designer, the creative aspect of my work is incredibly important to me. I take a collaborative approach to the design process with each couple, acting as a sounding board for their ideas and sharing my expertise. Whether it’s a specific colour palette, beautiful wax seals, or incorporating a cherished family tradition, I love hearing my couples’ visions. These personal touches are what make every invitation suite from Inkspiration by Gabrielle truly personal to each couple.

Part of my role is to identify what makes each couple’s story unique. I then translate these details onto paper to create truly personalised invitations, even when chosen from the semi-bespoke range. The result is a wedding stationery suite, including invitations, save the dates, welcome signs, seating plans and so much more that perfectly reflects the couple’s personality and gives their guests a stunning first glimpse of their wedding day.

Building Genuine Connections

I really enjoy meeting new people and building connections, so I love getting to know my couples! We work closely together, often over several months, and it’s wonderful when genuine friendships develop.

One of my favourite moments as a wedding stationery designer is sending out a couple’s finished invitations and wedding stationery items, then hearing how much they love what we’ve created together. I often get such kind and heart whelming feedback and reviews from my couples. This is just such a lovely way to let me know that I did a good job, and truly captured the essence of the couple by being able to incorporate their wants into the wedding stationery.

Working with Fellow Wedding Professionals

I truly enjoy collaborating with other wedding vendors. Everyone brings their unique talents and expertise, creating something truly beautiful for each wedding. It’s a privilege to combine our skills to make a couple’s day exceptional.

There’s so much talent here in Somerset alone. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of this vibrant community of creatives, all dedicated to making each wedding a success. Somerset is a truly magical and scenic place to get married, with some beautiful venues to pick from for your wedding day.

A Wonderful Community of Friends

From my wonderful couples to my fellow vendors and other wedding stationery designers, this career has brought so many amazing people into my life. It’s a blessing to have such a supportive community who are always there to offer advice, a helping hand, or simply a friendly chat. I wake up every morning genuinely looking forward to my projects.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, being a wedding stationery designer is so much more than just creating beautiful stationery. It’s about building relationships, sharing in joyous moments, and contributing to one of the most important days in a couple’s life. It’s a privilege to be part of this world, and I’m so grateful for every couple who trusts me with their vision.
